Method used to catch
Our Barramundi is cultivated through responsible aquaculture in earthen ponds. This method allows for controlled growth. Backed by Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) certification, every harvest meets international standards for environmental care, food safety, and social responsibility.
Black Tiger Ecoshrimp
Where to found
Bali Sustainable Seafood partnered with PT Alter Trade Indonesia located in East Java which is Alter is the leader in the production of Black Tiger Ecoshrimp. Their aquaculture system is based on 100% natural and organic methods of shrimp growth.
Method used to catch
The shrimp are all produced by local farmers on an artisanal scale and hand harvest.
Yellow Fin Tuna
Where to found
Our Yellowfin Tuna is sourced from Indonesia’s rich eastern waters, where small-scale vessels from Ambon and Sulawesi bring in fresh catches that reflect the best of the region’s seas. To complement this, our frozen Yellowfin Tuna is supplied through PT. Harta Samudra, Maluku island, a trusted partner equipped with advanced processing facilities that preserve the fish’s quality and freshness. Together, these sources ensure a consistent supply of premium tuna, harvested responsibly and handled with care from ocean to table.
Method used to catch
Handline is an artisanal fishing method employed by thousands of fishermen across Indonesia. Handline tuna fishing is inherently sustainable and, environmentally friendly as it means virtually no bycatch and therefore very low risks to protected species such as marine mammals, turtles, and sharks.
Uluwatu Octopus
Where to found
Our Octopus is sourced by small-scale fishers from the coastal waters of Serangan and Uluwatu, Bali. These areas are known for their clear, nutrient-rich seas that naturally support a thriving octopus population. By working closely with artisanal fishing communities, we ensure each catch is fresh, traceable, and rooted in traditional practices that sustain local livelihoods.
Method used to catch
Our Uluwatu octopus is caught using a sustainable method of fishing called ‘jigging’. A single line and artificial lures, made from aluminium and wood, which look like small fish and have single or double-hooks.
Pompano
How to farm
Our Partner PT Lucky is an eco-friendly, environmentally sustainable fish farm located in the pristine waters in the north of Pulau Seribu. PT Lucky is a champion amongst fish farms around the world as they create an ecobalance between farming and the health of the ocean. The fish pens are located in an area where the water slowly flows though in a steady current. The fish is harvested daily and either frozen instantly to -98 C or it is delivered fresh to sushi bars in Asia.
Red Snapper
Where to found
Red Snapper can be found in particularly the East Indian Ocean, around Sumatra and Sulawesi. Adult red snappers tend to prefer deeper reef areas
Method used to catch
Our red snapper is wild caught by Bali and NTB fishermen using handline, the traditional fishing method which is sustainable and eco-friendly. Caught in WPP-RI 573 (Indian Ocean) with a minimum length of 50 cm (approximately 1.8 kgs) to ensure the maturity and sustainability of the fish.
